Mar Lee Drama Program
Mar Lee Drama Program
Promoting fun and creative expression
Like the other arts, drama at Mar Lee School extends the curriculum, offering students a fun and creative way of developing language and communication skills. Drama also builds confidence, and working hard on the performance of a play is an excellent opportunity for developing skills of cooperation, team building, and the ability to focus. At Mar Lee, students have the unusual opportunity of working with college students from the Albion College theatre program.
Drama at Mar Lee is a post-curricular program open to all 5-8th graders. Students meet regularly for sessions designed to teach drama skills through process exercises.
In the final half of the spring semester, the group puts on a play or series of plays for the whole school community.
Students in the Mar Lee Drama program frequently go on to participate in high school drama and have found stage roles in civic theatres in the surrounding communities.
